The War On Terror: A Legacy of Two Brothers
“Why is America at war in Iraq? ”She gazed at me with bright intelligent eyes as she asked the
question. This was Wednesday evening Bible Study (May 12th 2004) and the
inquirer was Angelina, one of my top students in the Youth Bible Study
class at my home church. The floor was open to discuss any topic and this question led the
pack. Violet, another student, even suggested that the reason America was
attacked on 9/11 was because President Bush was in power. She explained that when his father was in the White House we had
similar problems, so it seemed that trouble naturally followed them. I paused, as I thought on this for a while. How could I properly address this issue and expose the truth of
what’s really taking place in America and the rest of world concerning
this war? The first thing I reminded them of, was that the war was NOT with
any country in particular, but it was a war on Terrorism! Secondly, I began building a proper
foundation so they could appreciate the true scope and meaning of this
conflict. This book resulted from the explanation I gave them as to why this
war exists and the choice we have in responding to these unfolding global
events. The book looks at the major players and clearly identifies the
driving force behind each of them. It uncovers motives that are both shocking and diabolical! It easily traces the history of the conflict from a 4,000 year-old
sibling rivalry recorded in sacred text to the global power struggles of
ancient spirits.
